Our Relationship
Motherhood is an incredible, transformative journey, and alongside the joy, it can bring a unique set of challenges, from the anxieties of pregnancy to the overwhelming demands of the postpartum period and the constant evolution of parenting. You're not alone in feeling this way.
At Resilient Tree Counseling, I offer a compassionate and understanding space, dedicated to helping women:
Navigate the deeply personal journey of trying to conceive by nurturing resilience and reconnecting with inner strength—even in the waiting. Your story is still unfolding, and healing can grow here.
Embrace pregnancy with calm and confidence by releasing anxiety, connecting with your changing body, and preparing for birth with greater peace and presence.
Move through postpartum with strength and self-compassion by processing intense emotions, hormonal shifts, and identity changes—so you can move beyond survival mode and begin to truly thrive.
Parent with joy and intention by developing practical strategies for everyday challenges, building stronger connections with your children, and discovering a parenting style that feels authentic to you.
Heal from past experiences by gently exploring birth trauma, grief, or unresolved wounds that may resurface during this vulnerable and transformative time.
Reconnect with your identity beyond motherhood by rediscovering your sense of self, nurturing personal growth, and strengthening your relationships and overall well-being.
Build a stronger support system by improving communication with your partner, family, and friends—fostering healthier relationships, boundaries, and emotional connection.
If any part of this feels familiar or seems to be showing up in your life right now, I warmly invite you to reach out and connect: you don’t have to navigate it alone.
More About
Amber Watson, LCMHC-A
I’m a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA) with years of experience supporting individuals facing trauma, life and relationship transitions, as well as a variety of other mental health challenges. My specialty is perinatal mental health, and I am passionate about helping women navigate the profound transitions of pregnancy, postpartum, and the complex journey of growing a family. I believe this time, while full of joy, can also bring unexpected emotional challenges that deserve compassionate, personalized care.
My journey into the helping professions began in early adulthood, when I realized I wanted to dedicate my life to supporting others. It took some time to discover how I wanted to use that calling in a way that felt meaningful and authentic. Through time, education, and personal reflection, I found my true passion in counseling, particularly maternal mental health. This is a specialty focus area that is deeply personal to me as a mother myself and blends my deep interest in mental wellness with a commitment to supporting women through one of life’s most transformative phases.
I understand that every person’s journey is unique. Whether you are experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, or stress related to pregnancy, postpartum, fertility challenges, trauma, or life transitions, my goal is to walk alongside you with empathy and respect. Together, we will explore coping strategies, build resilience, and cultivate hope, empowering you to navigate this chapter with greater strength and self-compassion.
Choosing therapy is a brave and important step. I’m honored to be part of your support system and look forward to working with you as you move toward healing and well-being.
“Women’s mental health after baby is equally as important as their health during pregnancy.”
Beyond the Therapy Space
I cherish time with my family and creating memories in this messy, ever-evolving season of motherhood, which has, and continues to teach me flexibility, patience, and how to hold space for both joy and overwhelm sometimes in the same moment! When I am not working, you will usually find me outdoors either camping, exploring the beauty of Western North Carolina, tending to my garden (and learning to accept that not every plant will thrive), or simply enjoying the warmth of the sun. I also enjoy working with my hands, whether that is tackling a household project or bringing new life to something old, like refinishing a piece of furniture.
I am not immune to life’s messiness, and I do not pretend to have it all figured out. I try to practice what I encourage in therapy: setting boundaries, giving myself grace, and staying curious about what’s working and what’s not.
If we begin working together, my hope is that you will find I bring my real, human self into the process, because therapy should feel like a meaningful connection where you are deeply seen, heard, and valued as a person not just viewed as another clinical transaction or checking of boxes.
